Surrey Badminton Club Policies

Check-In and Payments:

All participants must check in at reception, verify their booking time and court number, and complete payment before using the courts or any services.
Management reserves the right to adjust court assignments and limit drop-in participants as needed.

Liability

Players use the facility at their own risk.
Surrey Badminton Club is not responsible for injuries, lost, or damaged property.

Behaviour and Conduct

Good sportsmanship is expected—no swearing, abusive language, fighting, threats, or harassment toward players, staff, officials, or spectators.
Fighting, stalking, or threatening behavior will result in immediate ejection and may lead to further disciplinary actions at the discretion of management.

Site Policies and guidelines

No alcohol, smoking, or pets allowed inside the facility.
Only water is permitted in playing areas—no food, drinks, or glass containers.
Parents must supervise children at all times
Photos or videos taken during training may be used for promotional purposes.

Refunds

Events and Closures

Courts may be reserved without notice for tournaments, exhibitions, or events.

Parking

Skill Assessments: Mandatory for all levels except Beginners.
Minimum Participants: Classes need at least 4 participants to run.
Wrong Level Reassignment: Participants may be moved to a suitable group.
Make-Up Classes: One make-up class allowed per term, to be completed within the same term.
Discounts: 10% off for enrolling in a 2nd or 3rd set of lessons in the same term.
Equipment: Bring your own racquets and non-marking indoor shoes—street or dark-soled shoes are not allowed.
Payments: Spots are not guaranteed until payment is completed.

Registration Form: Fill out the registration form and email it

Payment Options: Payments can be made online, in-person, or over

the phone.

Important Note:
Both actions—payment and submitting the registration form

are mandatory to confirm your spot.
Making an online payment alone only reserves your spot temporarily.

Your registration is not confirmed without submitting the

registration form.

Footwear Requirements

Only non-marking indoor court shoes or badminton-specific shoes are allowed on the courts.
Bare feet, flip-flops, street shoes, or dark-soled shoes are strictly prohibited to prevent damage to the courts.

Shoe Rentals and Purchases

Shoes available for rent at $5 per pair.
Badminton-specific shoes can also be purchased at our Pro Shop for your convenience.

Why Badminton Shoes?

Badminton shoes are specially designed with lateral support to handle the quick sideways movements required during matches and training.
These features provide better stability, reduce the risk of injury, and help you maintain an optimal position to return shots effectively.

Court Rental

If you wish to cancel or reschedule your court rental, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full amount.

Private Lessons

If you are unable to attend a private lesson, please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full amount.

Group Lessons

Cancellations 3+ Days Before Start – 15% administrative fee applies.
Cancellations <3 Days Before Start – No refunds—store credit only.
Early Withdrawal Before Second Session – Store credit minus the first session fee and a 15% administrative fee.
Early Withdrawal Before Third Session – Store credit minus the two sessions fee and a 25% administrative fee.
No Refunds After Second Session – Including medical emergencies.
Facility Closures Due to Unforeseen Events – Store credit will be issued only for the affected session(s) and must be used within the same term.
